GUEST SPEAKERS
James & Christina Marchetti were born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. As high school sweethearts we helped plant a church that was a local ministry to street kids. In our mid 20’s we found ourselves digging into God’s Word and it lead us to feel the call to plant a church in our city. We began planting Radiant Church in Anchorage in 2013 and continued to work encouraging and equipping the foster care community within our congregation. Over the first 8 years of church planting we had 21 foster children and had the joy of adopting 6 of those children, claiming 2 more of their siblings as our own permanently. We’re excited to see the church continue to grow in imitation of our Savior as we love people at their lowest point just as He’s done for us.
Kenny & Lauren Humphries have spent their 19 year marriage learning to be more hospitable. God has brought them 60+ foster children, 6 adoptions, and countless unofficial moms, dads, and teens. They all come to remind the Humphries that Jesus WANTS to carry all of our drama and hurt. They specialize in medically complicated children and have a passion for seeing parents equipped to care for their children’s needs at home. Currently, they both work for Safe Families for Children Alaska and serve as missionaries with SEND Intl.
